AT&T to Join Verizon in Working With KT on NFV, SDN, and 5G

AT&T is set to join Verizon in working with South Korean operator KT on software-defined networking (SDN), network functions virtualization (NFV), and 5G. According to Business Korea, AT&T Chief Strategy Officer John Donovan attended an event at the KT Technology and Convergence Center. The meeting resulted in plans for the firms to tap AT&T’s NFV and SDN work and KT’s efforts around 5G.

“We expect that cooperation through AT&T’s SDN/NFV leadership and KT’s 5G leadership will create synergies to solve challenges of the telecom industry in the future,” said Lee Dong-Myeon, director of the KT Technology and Convergence Center.
