Samsung’s Artik IoT Platform Combines Hardware with the Cloud  

Samsung is lending its device expertise to the Internet of Things (IoT) with its Artik IoT platform. The company says its platform delivers everything from the modules to the cloud making for a secure connection. 

The company today introduced a new capability, called Cloud Monetization, that it says will make it easier for companies to generate revenue from IoT. Specifically, the cloud monetization will give device makers a way to meter data usage and charge customers for that usage. In the past, device makers have had trouble recouping their data usage because it was difficult to track and manage.
