Apple, GE Join Forces on Industrial Internet of Things (IoT)

Apple and General Electric announced a new software development kit for Apple's mobile operating system, iOS. The SDK, which will be available for download next week, enables developers to create applications for Predix, an Internet of Things platform made by GE.

"Together, Apple and GE are fundamentally changing how the industrial world works by combining GE's Predix platform with the power and simplicity of iPhone and iPad," said Apple CEO Tim Cook.
